Nanook has always been a very active dog and loved to run around with our other dog causing mischief. One day we noticed he was a bit stiff and sore and was walking oddly, he was going to the vet for another procedure so we got x-rays of his legs done at the same time. They discovered that he had a partially torn cruciate ligament that could completely tear at any moment.We were referred to a specialist orthopaedic vet, and he ended up getting a triple tibial osteotomy. The surgery was quoted as costing at least $3600, money we just didn’t have. Pet plan were fantastic, we contacted them and sent in the claim forms and a week later the entire bill was paid and we had a very sore but fixed dog! He is still going through his rehabilitation but is walking normally on his leg and looking happy and healthy again. - Emily
Senna / 1 year old Burmese / Auckland
When we found our 1 year old Burmese Cat, Senna, unable to bear weight on her front paw and bleeding from a puncture on her shoulder one evening we rushed her to the emergency Vet. The vet shaved around her wound and it looked as if she had been bitten by another animal so we were given pain relief and antibiotics and told to take her for X-Rays at our local vet.
Senna was x-rayed and much to the disbelief of both us and our vet she had been shot with an air rifle, with a pellet lodged in her shoulder joint. Senna had to have the pellet removed so she was booked in for surgery the following day which was going to cost $1,800 for the Surgery, X-Rays and the Emergency Vet. Luckily we had insured Senna when she was a kitten. I notified the staff at The Warehouse Petplan and sent in the claim forms straight after the surgery and the following week the refund was in my account. It was such a quick turnaround and so great to have that piece of mind in what was a very stressful time. - Aaron

Really happy that I have The Warehouse Petplan insurance for my Beagle, Murphy. I had to make a claim a few weeks ago and within a few days The Warehouse Petplan called me and said they would be paying my claim. The next day I had the refund in my account. Execeptional, it has never been this easy to make a claim with an insurance company! I feel so much better having the cover. Hopefully my Beagle stays out of trouble from now on though.
